“One my favorite turn based RPGs of all time. I got into this series after having a few Final Fantasies under my belt. The game play with the judgement ring felt fresh and kept fights interesting and not just spamming the same button to get through. Plus the story has a great balance of humor and seriousness. A must for anyone who likes turn based games.”

“Atmospherically amazing and original in gameplay and execution. Cast is quite strong and Yuri, the protagonist, is refreshingly bad-ass. I never got far enough to speak about the plot, but from what I've played so far, this game is an excellent RPG and one of the classics of the PS2. (collection status: owned. completion status: not completed, obviously. accurate rating: 8.75)”

“Maybe I liked this game because it was the second RPG I ever played on PS2, the animation was a bit too fluid and unrealistic, the story was way out there, and the characters were very odd to be labeled as heroes.
Yet it still is a fact that I did like this game. I liked how the main character was in a battle with himself and his own hatred to keep progressing the story. The fate ring combat system was awesome too, it required you to remain awake and aware while playing.
I think the timing was perfect for this game, it really worked out for me.”

“An RPG that doesn't shy away from the macabre and disturbing. Was surprised at just how far it went. Brilliant!”

“Never got past the first city, about an 2 hours in, it seemed to be interesting, but I had too many other things to do/play at the time and i've never really found myself compelled to go back and play it again. Thus I can't conscientiously rate it.”
