DESCRIPTION
As Marcellus Faust, your are the keeper of an abandoned theme park that is home to the souls of seven sinners on the doorstep of Heaven or Hell. You must travel back in time to discover the dark secrets of the inhabitants, all targeted by Mephisto, the supreme manipulator who is bargaining for their souls. Your investigation will determine whether they travel to the Pearly Gates or the fires of Hell. Avoid tricks, traps, delusions and illusions as you flirt with disaster and discover the fates of seven people and attempt to save your own soul.
Seven Games of the Soul is a single-player first-person mystery adventure with seven chapters. Each episode is saved after you defeat it and can be restarted at any point. Full motion video events that are triggered during the episodes explain snippets of the story and combining some objects will lead to hidden keys and passageways as you investigate the sinners. Use maps, notes from Theodore's files and hints from Homunculus to help solve puzzles.
Options allow you to view the list of actors for each episode as well as play previously viewed movies during the course of the game. During the game, various items of importance, such as a knife and keys become available and you must explore, examine, move and manipulate the environment to achieve success. The interface is mouse-driven and utilizes point-and-click or point-and-drag conventions. The soundtrack features works by Marvin Gaye, Billie Holiday, Stan Getz and John Lee Hooker among others. ~ Nick Woods, All Game Guide
