DESCRIPTION
Science Papa is a collection of mini-games intended to both entertain and educate. The game's lighthearted story casts players as the newest members on Science Papa's research team, where they will conduct research and experiments in multiple branches of science. Activities include creating chemical reactions, heating solutions, digging up fossilized bones, and wiring electronic gadgets. As players accomplish in-game tasks, new equipment becomes available and new challenges are unlocked. Experiments are designed to be hands-on, as players prepare and mix chemicals by mimicking motions with the Wii Remote. In head-to-head multiplayer modes, speed counts. Players can race to be first to successfully complete their experiments, or try to slow down their opponent with a little good-natured sabotage. Although officially no relation to Majesco's popular Cooking Mama, Activision's Science Papa presents activities in a similarly encouraging, paternal manner. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“As a biology graduate, you could say I enjoy science-y things, especially video games involving laboratory stuff My friends even tease me, saying that if I ever "drop the vial", I better call them soon afterward to warn them of the impending zombie apocalypse.
Anyhoo, when I picked this up, I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy it, as it comes across quite cartoony. Thankfully, it is quite cartoony, but in a very fun way. Not only that, I was surprised to see that the experiments you do aren't that far off from what you'd need to do in real life. With that said, though, parents make sure your kids are smart enough not to recreate the experiments at home without professional supervision.
Throughout the game, you perform various science experiments. These are sort of like mini-games, where the faster you complete each step in the process, without overdoing (or overcooking) it, the better the yield. My only gripe with the game is that it's timed. The focus is on getting it done quickly and efficiently, rather than slow and steady. It's almost like an Iron Chef Science edition.
Regardless, I highly recommend it, especially for anyone seriously thinking about entering the sciences.”
