DESCRIPTION

Similar to the original, Samurai Warriors 2 is a historically inspired game that takes the third-person hack-and-slash action of Koei's premier Dynasty Warriors series and sets it in feudal Japan, during the Sengoku ("warring states") period. Players can create an empire for themselves by winning battles, conquering rivals, and claiming new territory. As in the Dynasty Warriors games, one or two (in split-screen mode) players move their characters through relatively open battlefields that teem with skirmishes in every direction. Hero characters are usually somewhat sturdier than the average soldier that is their most common opponent, but their greatest strength is in their ability to string together powerful combo attacks. Following the pattern of earlier "Xtreme Legends" titles from Omega Force and Koei, Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends is an enhanced re-release of the original Samurai Warriors 2: Empires.
