Samurai Shodown! 2 on the Neo Geo Pocket Color is a continuation of the long line of Samurai Shodown games. This portable version makes no changes to the standard Samurai Shodown formula: 2D, head-to-head, weapons fighting. You can choose from samurai, fencers, staff-fighters and a host of other types of characters. Each fighter has their own distinct weapon and fighting style.

Of course, the traditional Samurai Shodown Rage Gauge remains, allowing you to pull off each samurai's respective Rage Explosion or "Method of Mayhem" (i.e. flashy, damaging, super move). Other standard fighting game moves are applied with the Neo Geo Pocket's two-button controller, from throws to rolls to escapes and even fake outs. The game even utilizes a relatively simple combo system that should allow novices to jump right in, but keeping veterans happy with longer combo strings.

This all means that Samurai Shodown is back on the Neo Geo Pocket, and this time it's not only portable, but it's also in color! ~ Derek Williams, All Game Guide
