DESCRIPTION
S.T.U.N. Runner is a futuristic racing game from the developers at Atari. In S.T.U.N. Runner, it is the players job to pilot a spacecraft through different courses in a futuristic city. Along the way, the player must avoid hitting slow-moving trains, indestructible drone cars, and speedy little spikes that travel in the direction against the player's machine.
The tracks in S.T.U.N. Runner vary greatly form level to level. Red stars and green stars show the player where the fastest path to the finish line is. Red boost pads give the player's craft a supercharged boost of speed which propels them closer to the finish line. Boost pads not only give the player additional speed but also award bonus points.
After level 1, the player's craft is modified with extra shields and a laser cannon. The laser cannon can be used to shoot trains and spike but is ineffective against the drones. After level 5, players can be awarded "shockwaves" by guiding their craft over green stars. A shockwave is a powerful cannon that destroys everything — including drones — in front of the player.
The S.T.U.N. Runner console is similar to a motorcycle. The controls are a simple steering wheel with triggers on each handgrip. The start button is used to fire shockwaves. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
