DESCRIPTION
Enter the horrifically mutated world of a radioactive wasteland in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. As a scavenger, you will explore the 30-kilometer "zone," a large territory of half-ruined buildings, dead military bases, neglected laboratories, and woodlands. For 20 years the land has gone untouched and unmanaged, eventually turning into an area covered in ulcers of scorched earth, poisonous fogs, gravitational anomalies, and mutated animals and plants. You will enter the zone looking for anything that might interest one of the many scientists, scavengers, army soldiers, and dealers. By earning money from scrounged items, you can purchase updated guns, devices, and protective suits that allow you to enter previously inadmissible places. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

“At first I thought that this game wasn't that good. When I first got encumbered, I thought to myself "this isn't cool". The thing that really got to me was the aiming system. I tend to aim for the head, so if I go over to iron sight, I expect to hit the guy in the head. Bullet after bullet I would miss, and this annoyed me. So I dropped the game immediately.
Later on, I saw a friend of mine playing the game, and it looked like so much fun. I decided to give the game a try again, and this time, I got hooked to it. I completely and utterly love this game. The story is great, the freedom is outstanding, and the fact that you play as a Russian Character is even better.
The sets out in a place called the Zone. An area stretching from Power Plant Chernobyl, around the border of Ukraine to the town of Pripyat. Your character has no idea what is going on, and you are known as Marked One throughout the game (but there is a catch). Your main quest is to kill Strelok, though you have no idea who he is, or even where to find him.
You explore the Zone, and get clues from each town and encampment, and do missions to earn money, as well as weapons to eventually build yourself a good reputation.
The gameplay is survival horror, and you are bound to find all sorts of interesting and terrifying things in the Zone.
Thumbs up to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl”

“This game have the most realistic graphics I've ever seen in FPS (seems like GSC/THQ had the carefull to create the area around chernobyl).
As a survivor and with a lack of memory, beside the fact we are after a certain person, we are launched in a post-apocalyptic world with mutations and groups of people that aim for survive in a world of perils.
Beside the intense fights sometimes we see ourselfs, we need to figure out the best way to reach our mission goal, how to pass a tunnel with a strange anomaly for example.
To be honest not really my kind of game, but it manage to keep me interested due to the immersive world we are launched in this adventure.”
