Emerson "Skeeter" Bankhead, commissioner of RollerGames, has been kidnapped by the Vicious International Punks and Eternal Renegades (V.I.P.E.R.). Planning to claim all of the funds from the 21st century's most popular sport as ransom, V.I.P.E.R. has also corrupted three of the league's six teams. But there's still hope. Three honest teams remain, and they're ready to take any means necessary to save Commissioner Bankhead, foiling V.I.P.E.R.'s plans of terrorism.
As the T-Birds' Ice Box, the Hot Flash's Rolling Thunder or the Rockers' California Kid, it's up to you to strap on your skates and make your way to V.I.P.E.R. headquarters. Your trip to liberate the commissioner will not be an easy one, though. Besides having to defeat members of the corrupt Maniacs, Violators and Bad Attitude squads, you've also got malicious animals, combat copters other and enemies to defeat. Providing further challenge, each of the game's six stages provides a variety of other obstacles, concluding with a battle with a powerful boss such as Captain Meat Hook or Fish Face.
The odds may seem overwhelming but the skaters each have special moves to help them out of tight situations in addition to their unique fighting abilities. The slow, but strong Ice Box's bone-crushing body attack contrasts with the speedy, weaker Rolling Thunder's head-spinning revolving jump-kick. With an even balance of speed and strength, meanwhile, the California Kid isn't afraid to show you her two-stage kick.
The whole world could potentially be affected by the ruthless terrorism of V.I.P.E.R. It's up to you and the eight wheels below you to make sure this snake can't strike. ~ Christopher Michael Baker, All Game Guide
