DESCRIPTION
Rollcage is a futuristic racing game featuring 20 tracks set across four environments, including red canyons, cities, and scenic highways. What distinguishes Rollcage from similar titles is that the six included vehicles can race on any surface. You can drive a vehicle along a tunnel's ceiling, over boulders, across the sides of walls, and more. Each vehicle is indestructible with varying acceleration, speed, strength, and grip ratings.
Found within each course are eight power-ups to use against your opponents. Weapons include a homing missile, a drill that bores through consecutive targets, an ice sheet that takes away 80 percent of a vehicle's traction, a rocket that seeks out the first-place racer, and a wormhole. Players can also utilize time warps, turbo boosts, and protective shields. Play options include league, time attack, practice, and head-to-head races against a friend.
League play involves advancing through three increasingly challenging leagues. Each league consists of a season spanning multiple races. Each race earns you points, which are used to determine your overall standing and unlock the remaining two leagues. Time attack has you racing against the clock or a ghost vehicle in an attempt to set a new lap or course record. Practice lets you learn the ins-and-outs of each course, while the two-player option features head-to-head racing on a split-screen display. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
