DESCRIPTION
Although players may have toured the world many times over in the console editions of Rock Band, the series can finally take its act on the road with Rock Band: Unplugged, the first for a portable system. The game is played with the normal PSP buttons instead of frets on a guitar-shaped controller, not unlike the play in developer Harmonix's Guitar Hero pre-cursors for PS2, Frequency and Amplitude. As icons scroll outward down the screen, players tap buttons in time with the music, in order to perform the part of the instrument they are playing. Players can switch between available instruments — lead, bass, drums, and vocals— by shifting to the left or right. The game's song list includes more than 40 master recordings, including 9 tracks that launch as system exclusives for a limited time before being made available to other system editions of Rock Band. ~ T.J. “Played a little bit of Rock Band; went back and improved my scores on some stages.”

“I re-did a few sets and got higher ranking with them, but can't really progress more until I buy more DLC. I kind of wish the PSN had the full version of this game so I could have received more...”

“Came with my PSPgo. An interesting distraction for maybe a week. But it outright punishes you for not buying the overpriced downloadable music tracks. Honestly, I'm NOT paying $2.99 for a SINGLE track of music for this enemic portable version of a MUCH better game. If you want my honest opinion, if you get this game for free, don't bother with downloading it.. Even for FREE, it's just not worth your time. A waste of harddrive space.”

“I meant to play this for just fifteen or so minutes, but ended up playing for over an hour!”

“Unlocked some more gigs and got the tour bus.”

“I need to buy more songs! (6 songs don't cut it.)”

“This portable version is turning out to be a cooler game than I originally expected. It's still odd to have an all-rocker-chick group singing in clearly male voices.. *^_^* #strange quirk#”

“What the smeg have I done? I'm getting addicted to this game!”

“My band's really rocking. :-)”

“I made up my own band and started touring... getting into it. :-) Lack of multiplayer is a downer though. I should be able to hook up with a friend or two and focus on specific instruments!”

“Not exactly the for-reals Rock Band, but for a portable hand-held game this is a heck of a lot of fun. I've even grabbed the free download of "Still Alive", which is a nice freebie. I...”

“Tried to play in medium mode in the song Alive, so far getting the hang of it. Pretty cool. Just too bad the battery of psp doesn't last for a day T_T, have to constantly charge it.. hehe”
