“I will say this right off, the most memorably fun moments in my gaming career have gone down while playing Rock Band 2. I have played it at parties, in bars, in competitions, on stage at the Penny Arcade Expo, I've played it by myself and (my favorite way to play) at home with 3 of my best friends.

It is probably the most fun game I've ever played and I say "probably" only because, to date, I've yet to play Rock Band 3.

I could talk at length about the cool features, great visuals, amazing track list and seemingly unending replay value, but I will keep this review short.

I will simply mention two questions of mine that I never want to have answered:
1. How much have I spent playing this game?
2. How many hundreds of dollars have I spent on downloadable songs?

Rock Band as a franchise has, in my opinion, the best and copious downloadable content of any game in any genre and it certainly exceeds the available DLC options of Activision's Guitar Hero franchise.

As a musician, I was naturally predisposed to loving rhythm genre games. So when the first Guitar Hero came out, they had me at hello, but with Rock Band it's entirely certain that I will never say goodbye. ”

“Rock Band 2 is a very fun party game. I normally played with my wife or with three others. I tried all the instruments out and enjoyed the guitar, bass, and vocals. The drums felt like it would be fun, but my hand-foot coordination doesn't appear to be very good, so I didn't play very well and as a result would usually fail.

The career mode of the game adds quite a bit of replay value and can be played in multi-player mode. There are tons of songs to download, but at $2 a pop you need to be a bit picky about what you want or you can blow through quiet a bit of money without knowing it.

Overall this is a very fun game and I have preferred it over Guitar Hero's equivalent band effort. If you like music and always wanted to be a musician, give this game a try.”
