DESCRIPTION
One night while walking the beat as Patrolman Murphy, you were gunned down. You were then turned into a deadly killing machine with a reinforced titanium body, an erased memory and a programmed mind. Now, as Robocop, you are out to find the gang responsible for the attack on Murphy.
You begin the game with a standard police pistol. As you make your way from left to right, shooting or punching any villains in your path, you can collect capsules that give you more ammunition, stronger firepower and three way bullets. You can also snack on baby food for extra energy. Enemies will fire at you from ground level and snipers will shoot at you from above.
The action in the game takes place in various locations such as a junkyard, the streets of Detroit, a drugs factory and OCP Headquarters, where you must evade boobytraps and villains and battle ED209. Between levels your accuracy will be tested at a couple of different shooting galleries, and your identification/matching skills will be challenged at a photo-fit identification screen and a thermograph photo-fit.
In the final level, you must rescue the President of OCP from the clutches of gang leader Dick Jones.
Robocop for the Atari ST is based on the film from 1987, which starred Peter Weller as the title character. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
