DESCRIPTION
Around late 1993 or early 1994, a game came out that rocked the computer game market. It featured an immersive environment filled with puzzles, mystery and intrigue. This game was Myst, now a classic and somewhat historic game. It captivated legions of adventure and puzzle game fanatics, yet it annoyed some gamers because they felt it was too vague, challenging and boring. Still, it was one of the most widely known and most talked about games ever to hit the shelves. And now it has a sequel.
Riven is much like its predecessor. In it you must rescue Catherine, who has been enslaved somewhere in Riven. To do this you will be required to immerse yourself into the vast world which features even more detailed graphics, more complex and challenging puzzles and a longer gaming experience. You'll travel to many exotic locations, such as dark caves and glorious forests and beaches. The game is, like Myst completely non-linear, meaning you can do anything you want to do. There's also a more complete sense of a story, thanks to nicely done FMV sequences. Fans of Myst, prepare yourselves for an all new adventure. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide

“Of all the Myst games, this one is the must play for puzzlers & explorers! Absolutely stunning game visually and a real challenge to explore and unravel the mystery of this puzzling and epic world. Cyans (Myst series) best, IMHO.”

“Another wonderful game in the Myst storyline. There isn't much more I can say besides wonderful game.”

“I played MYST at a friend's house, but RIVEN was the first in the series that I bought (with my own money!). Darker and more depressing than MYST, RIVEN was like the moody, emo teenager in this family of games.”

“Riven is a lot like Myst, point-and-click plots painted with beautiful still imagery. Will work for fans of the series, but those who like movement in games should look elsewhere.”
