“I have FINALLY beaten this game after two years of putting it off... I was so reluctant to play this game because the story was too slow moving and it seems on your first play-through the chapters take so damn long that you start forgetting what you were doing in the first place.

Story aside though it took 8 chapters of boredom before I finally got into the swing of things and started understanding the game and the complex battle system it throws you into with little help to grasp it. The story line was basically fetch quests for 30 hours and then at the start of chapter 9 everything starts getting real interesting really fast and then it blows up into an extravagant ending that leaves you with a million more questions. It got better but I feel this game could have done more in the writing department.

Nonetheless, it's a well thought up and fleshed out experience in game-play and design that leaves a lot up to your imagination as an RPG should do. Simply traveling on the world map is interesting because it is shown to you in hexagonal format and your team is marked by an icon. I got the impression that they weren't walking, they could probably travel however the hell -I- wanted them to travel since the visuals never stated anything otherwise. I like when games let me use my imagination... Like old Final Fantasy games, I always assume the traveling that took me a few steps would have taken them days upon days!

Closing statement: It's a good and visually stunning game but slightly lacks in story. A strong battle system, lots of witty banter, and characters you can attach yourself to. 4 out of 5 stars.”

“Oh man. This game will kick you down on your ASS if you try to dick around in battle. The battle system is a bit hard to catch on at first, but they throw plenty of tutorial practice your way. The side missions can make the chapters seem a bit mundane at times, since there's quite a few chapters that have short story missions that are basically "Go to from Point A to Point B and return back." Overall an enjoyable game none-the-less. Love the customizing.”
