DESCRIPTION
In Renegade, the user takes the role of a fed-up street thug bent on cleaning up the streets and taking the city's unsafe regions back. The game is side scrolling in both horizontal and vertical directions.
The game runs on a level system where there is a time limit to complete each section. In addition, there are a certain number of enemy thugs who must be dispensed with before the next level will become available.
The usual assortment is to have three of four enemies attack at once. To this end, the user can perform the standard assortment of moves including punches, kicks and knees to the face. Players can also pick up weapons dropped by opponents. When surrounded by foes, the user is also able to pull of some reversal moves and attack an enemy while being restrained by a second enemy.
The user is given three lives and no continues in this one-player game. A life is lost when the energy bar at the bottom of the screen reaches zero. Taking punishment from the enemies decreases the bar. ~ Ryan Glover, All Game Guide
