DESCRIPTION
realMyst gives a 3D facelift to one of the most successful computer games of all time. Players can now experience the game world by utilizing unrestricted movement and looking in every direction in an all-encompassing environment, rather than step through the adventure using "snapshot" views. The sun rises and sets, the weather changes, wind blows through the trees, and torchlight flickers in the reworked dynamic surroundings.
The remake features a bonus age in addition to those in the original game. The story remains the same but realMyst revamps the experience to take advantage of 32-bit rendered 3D perspectives. It's a single player puzzle quest where you must solve innumerable conundrums in order to uncover the secrets of Myst, while trying to journey home. Using reasoning, intellect and logic, you decipher mechanical switches, traverse hidden passageways, travel through a variety of environments on land, through trees and mysterious buildings.
The interface uses a combination of keyboard and mouse to effect action and solve puzzles. realMyst includes an all-new digitally re-mastered soundtrack, complete with sound effects and mood-oriented music. The controls and windows of the first game have been eliminated, thus offering a more comprehensive view of the action. Only by solving each and every puzzle will you eventually discover the way home. ~ Nick Woods, All Game Guide
