DESCRIPTION
Real World Golf lives up to its name by incorporating a new technology designed to track the motion involved with swinging a golf club. Instead of tapping buttons or nudging an analog stick, players instead grip a miniature, dual-sided club replica and perform a real-time swing in front of the television screen. The included 3D motion-sensing device, dubbed the Gametrak controller, is positioned on the floor and purportedly detects speeds of up to 2000 mph and movements as slight as 1mm. Players can therefore adjust the club's head at different angles to generate loft, backspin, draw, hooks, and slices.
The game itself features ten 18-hole courses, three adjustable skill levels, and multiple play modes, including tournament, championship, training, and party options. The latter consists of mini-games that range from smashing a series of windows to hitting a giant dartboard for points. Traditional game formats include stroke, match, and skins play against a choice of computer or human opponents. Up to four players are supported by either sharing the equipment or by hooking up a second Gametrak controller. In-game driving ranges, putting greens, and video tutorials are included to help new users adjust to the unusual control scheme. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
