DESCRIPTION

Rayman is an unusual "limbless" being who inhabits a strange fantasy world. In this side-scrolling platform-style game, Rayman must retrieve the Great Protoon from Mr. Dark in order to restore peace and harmony to the land.

Rayman's basic abilities include walking, jumping, crawling, and climbing. As he progresses on his quest, Rayman receives new powers from the fairy Betilla. These include a fist for punching enemies and the ability to hang onto the edge of platforms.

There are six different worlds that must be conquered to complete the quest. Each world has several levels that must be completed in order to move forward to the next world. All of the levels are arrayed on a map. This gives the player some freedom in choosing the order in which the levels are completed.
