DESCRIPTION
The world government is greatly in need of your help! An evil empire has hatched a nefarious plan to attack the earth, and the only man (or woman) who can stop it is you! Climb into your R-Type fighter and destroy the alien hun in R-Type DX!
If you've ever played the classic R-Type on the Amiga or in the arcades, you know what you're in-for: a fast-paced side-scrolling shoot-em-up, with plenty of bizarre, squishy aliens to defeat. Multiple powerups like Fire Chains and Bubble Beams can be acquired, but watch your back — one hit from an enemy and you're done for.
R-Type is essentially R-Type I and II combined onto one cartridge, with black-and-white and color versions of each (owners of older Game Boy systems won't be left out). The "DX" version is just the two games crammed together for a longer gameplay experience.
Though there's technically nothing new in this package, R-Type DX looks like it could satisfy a new genereation of hard-core shooter fans. ~ Colin Williamson, All Game Guide
