DESCRIPTION
From Lion Entertainment, Inc. and MacSoft comes the Macintosh version of Quake. Originally developed by id Software, the company responsible for the first-person shooter Doom and its sequel Doom II, Quake includes enhanced movement features that not only allow your characters to jump up and down but gives them the ability to turn 360 degrees and look up and down as well.
Quake contains four episodes, each divided into sublevels, and features a wide variety of objects with which to interact. Secret doors, pressure plates, motion detectors, buttons and floor plates are just some of the items awaiting discovery. You fight vicious monsters (the lumbering Shambler and grenade toting Ogres) with an arsenal of weaponry including such weapons as nail guns, a rocket and grenade launcher, shotgun, perforator, axe and more. During your adventure, you encounter many hazards such as wind tunnels, water and lava as well as a few anti-gravity rooms.
Special features for the Macintosh release include optimization for PowerPCs, the ability to play against opponents using either PC or Macintosh computers over a LAN, the Internet or modem and a True Mac interface for easy customization of the many options. Multi-player action supports cooperative, deathmatch (cutthroat) and team games.
Have you fragged your quota of bad guys today? If not, enter the fray and make the monsters Quake with fear of your bad self. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide

“1) Ultima Online - Totally broke the mold and pushed for a world of immense freedom and flexibility. I feel they screwed it up later on. I miss the anarchy of 1997's beta. 2) Betrayal at Krondor -...”

“Quite possibly the best older shooter available. Cool guns, inventive monsters, secrets all over. Blowing stuff up never got better.”
