DESCRIPTION
The hose-nosed critter known as Q*bert is back and ready for more cube-hopping action courtesy of Sony Pictures Digital Networks. Gottlieb's artwork, sound effects, and play mechanics from the 1983 coin-op game have been closely replicated in this update, as the developers created their version by first disassembling the original's arcade game's code. Fans of the quarter-munching classic will recognize the same characters, features, and style of play. The differences involve level layouts and a few tweaks like new spinning transport discs, which will repeatedly whisk Q*bert to isolated areas inaccessible from standard jumping. The goal throughout the game's 50 stages is otherwise the same: jump on each level's series of cubes one or more times until they are all the same color as the displayed target cube. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“This is a very weird game. The objective is simple, but those snakes can track you down way too easily. ”

“A good emulation, with a decent graphics filter. Way overpriced, though. Until they drop the price to $1, Load up MAME on a YellowDogLinux bootable CD, instead.”
