DESCRIPTION
Q*Bert hops again in Parker Brothers' colorful Intellivision version of the arcade classic. Yet while this edition of Q*Bert may boast much nicer graphics than the same title on the Atari VCS, it falls right off the pyramid in other important areas. Discs may be Q*Bert's only defense in the game, but the Intellivision's disc controllers don't do him any favors — players will find it challenging, to say the least, maintaining any precise control over Q*Bert's movement. Whereas the Atari VCS joysticks weren't necessarily suited to heavy diagonal action (meaning that version of the game asked players to rotate their joysticks 45 degrees), the Intellivision's disc proves unresponsive for Q*Bert's fast-paced action. With nice graphics and sound closely approximating the arcade experience, that's really the only disappointment to be found in this version of the game, but lack of control will be enough to sink it for some players. ~ Earl Green, All Game Guide
