DESCRIPTION
One of the NES platform's most successful sports titles enters the Virtual Console ring to give Wii owners a shot at the World Video Boxing Association championship. This version of Punch-Out!! is the 1991 re-release featuring Mr. Dream in the title fight instead of Mike Tyson. Teenage boxer Little Mac must jab his way through 13, three-round bouts against ten colorful personalities. Each cartoon-like rival has a distinct boxing style and various quirks that players need to exploit to emerge victorious. Players can avoid crushing blows by well-timed dodges, ducks, or blocks, while mixing up left and right punches to their opponent's body or head. Each successful hit earns players one of three stars, granting Little Mac the power to unleash a devastating uppercut. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“finally whipped through Great Tiger and Bald Bull was much easier than I thought. If you can beat his strategy in the NES version, hes a breeze in this one too. My new nemesis is Mr. Sandman. ”
