DESCRIPTION

Players run, jump, and swordfight, to save a beautiful princess from marrying a terrible villain against her will. Prince of Persia Classic is based directly on Jordan Mechner's influential side-scrolling adventure game, originally released for desktop computers in 1989. The play of the game involves guiding the agile prince through a series of platform-jumping levels set in a medieval Arabian city. Dangers include bottomless gaps, deadly spikes that pop up from the floors, and armed guards who block the path. Beginning in the depths of a well-secured dungeon, the hero has only one hour to reach the princess' chambers, before she is forced to wed the foul Grand Vizier, Jaffar. The game plays out in real time, giving players exactly one hour to make it through the side-scrolling platform levels. The graphics, art style, and animations in Prince of Persia Classic have been updated, but the level design and character actions are modeled directly after those in the original game. ~ T.J.
