Courtesy of Hudson Soft comes Pomping World, a translation of Capcom's Arcade game Buster Bros. Alien bubbles have invaded Earth, and you must fly around to the major cities of the world popping these bubbles. Bubbles come in four sizes, and only the smallest of them can be destroyed. You must successively whittle down all the bubbles on-screen so that they're small enough to be destroyed. All within a time limit, of course. If you don't make it in time, or if a bubble touches you, you lose a life.
To accomplish your mission, you have a wire gun and the ability to use several power-ups. The basic wire gun shoots straight up, trailing a thin wire. If a bubble touches the wire, the bubble pops or splits in two and the wire disappears. If the shot hits something like a ledge or the ceiling, the shot and wire also disappear. You can pick up power-ups that let you shoot multiple wire shots or change your gun to shoot an anchor wire shot. The anchor wire attaches itself to any surface it hits for a few seconds, trailing the wire. During that time you are unable to shoot, but if a bubble hits the wire, it disappears and you can shoot again. Other power-ups include dynamite, which pops all the bubbles to their smallest size when used, a stopwatch that freezes the bubbles for a few seconds, a gun and extra time. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
