“The challenge isn't really playing poker at all. I don't gamble.

This game is actually more of a puzzle game. It's a solitaire game in which the cards are layed out in a grid, and you try to find groups of cards next to each other that form good poker hands, as fast as you can. There are bonuses for speed, number of cards left and the number of different kinds of hands made.

Playing solitaire in a box isn't really all that hard, if the box is big enough.”

“The dice poker game is actually pretty good. Even the dice physics were pretty impressive (I've managed to bounce one of the dice out of the box on a couple of occasions). I think the only improvements I might suggest would be to allow each players hand to be hidden and allow for more betting with higher stakes. At least in-game wise. The whole bluffing mechanic that makes Poker itself exciting was completely missing.”

“True. Without the bluffing, there is a lot missing - but then, I have never seen the game of bluffing and mutual assessment working properly with computer opponents. ”

“Good point. Plus we all know the AI can and will cheat regardless (ive seen a die on an edge leaning one way tip over the other direction), Perhaps a better way to put it would be an element of surprise? Not knowing what the computer has in his hand does tend to promote an extra second or two of consideration. All of it being a mere illusion of course, since the ultimate trump card over that scoundrel of an AI is the quickload button ;-D”
