DESCRIPTION
Enter the world of Pokémon, a world where you collect, train, and battle with all the little Pokémon creatures. In this major Japanese hit, you play in an RPG world collecting and trading the little Pokémon. Your real goal in the game is to collect all 150 Pokémon, and to do that you will probably need to trade with someone who has the Blue Version of Pokémon, using the Game Link.
Each monster you get can be trained in different ways, making each monster different — the possibilities are endless. Not only do you collect and trade your monsters, but you also battle them against the computer to beat the game. But just beating the game isn't all you are going to want to do. Your main goal is to catch 'em all! ~ Josh Babich, All Game Guide

“Oh--right... forgot to mention that I was playing this one a little while ago. Why? Why would I play such an outragious horrible game? Well, I have known a few people who enjoy the Gen 1 metagame....”

“This was my 2nd Pokemon game and it was just because I had completed the blue version and wanted to see the difference between the versions. A great game in it's own right, although if you played the Blue version, it was exactly the same thing, just different Pokemon would randomly appear in the grass, that was about it.”

“A horrid and poorly balanced game. When I played against my friends back in 1998, it was far too easy to out strategise them. The current Pokemon games, battle wise are much more thought out. Graphics though are awesome.”

“The Pokemon games are all nearly identical: big worlds full of collectibles, items, and turn-based RPG strategy. The originals are simple and streamlined, albeit repetitive.”
