DESCRIPTION
The fighting among the Terran Republic, New Conglomerate, and Vanu Sovereignty moves underground in this first expansion pack for PlanetSide. Each empire would like to get their hands on the secret alien technology that has been discovered underneath the continents of Auraxis. Players will need to battle in each of the six new warzones in order to capture this new technology and use it to upgrade their facilities on the surface. The six warzones feature subterranean cities and varied environments, such as volcanic lava flows and ice caverns.
Core Combat adds three weapons and three vehicles to PlanetSide that become accessible to each empire once they upgrade their facilities with the appropriate modules. Weapons include the heavy assault rifle Maelstrom, the special assault rifle Radiator, and the long-range pistol Spiker. Additional vehicles include the hover tank Flail, the rapid-assault ATV-class Switchblade, and a deployable transporter called Router. Aside from the vehicle and equipment modules, players can also capture pain, health, shield, and speed modules. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
