Story- Left 4 dead... If you like Left 4 dead then it is safe to say that Payday The Heist IS a must-buy.There is no story mode, or in deed any story what so ever. Instead, the player has a large number of lengthy missions that must be unlocked via completing the available missions. There is a host of four characters that, like left 4 dead, have little difference between them except what they say and what their voices sound like. There are, however, small stories within the missions you undertake. For example; One mission may have you pretending to low-lives so you can infletrate a gang hideout. On the other hand you may be doing a task as basic as robbing a bank, which from the title is to be expected. Despite this however the stories in the missions are weak bordering on pathetic and unecessary, however they do have one redeeming feature; the shooting that takes place in them. The stories are genuinely put in place to throw the player into yet another great shootout section or SWAT assault and due to an intense an unforgiving atmosphere, I wouldn't have it any other way. Much like Left 4 dead, all of the missions in Payday The Heist can be played up to four players in co-op, and naturally co-op is for most players the default mode to play the game, allowing the four players to select one of the four robsust and some how likeable characters and hold thier own in intense and unique shootouts.
