DESCRIPTION
Playing exactly like the original arcade version of Pac-Man, this version is, if anything, more faithful to the look of the original than even the Atari 5200 version (which was, at the time, the high watermark for a home version of Pac-Man). The maze isn't as "squished" into a horizontal format as the 5200 cartridge's was, and the other graphics are very faithful to the original. (A nice little bit of visual flair is added by the monsters' downcast eyes as they follow you downward in the maze; they actually look mean!) Overall, a winning translation of the original - and it's still a bit ironic that Atarisoft's Pac-Man on such systems as the ColecoVision and Intellivision were infinitely more appealing (and playable) than the Pac-Man cartridge released for the company's own 2600 console. ~ Earl Green, All Game Guide
