DESCRIPTION

Open Ice is two-on-two (plus goalies) hockey where the action is fast and furious and a two-goal lead can melt in a matter of seconds. Midway has obtained the NHL license and offers all 26 teams (as of 1995) with their official logos and two of their bext players. Take the role of Eric Lindros, Marc Messier or even The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, as you vie for the Stanley Cup.

You'll play offense and defense in this game, and it offers a turbo button to help you catch up with the opposition on break-aways. Play solo against the computer, or play with up to three other friends. This game allows you to enter your initials and birthday so that it can keep records of your progress for the next time you play. Real NHL announcer Pat Foley calls all the action, and if you can defeat all 26 teams, you'll get your name etched on the coveted Stanley Cup (or the high scorers screen, as it's sometimes called). ~ Brad Cook, All Game Guide
