DESCRIPTION
Once upon a time, in the Mysterious East, there lived a young lad named Kung Fu Lu, whose only goal in life was to destroy the ancient evil wall that plagued his friendly neighbors.
Guarding the wall was a mystical dragon and an evil blackbird. The dragon would cast balls at Kung Fu Lu and the blackbird would block any shots he might deflect towards the wall.
Off The Wall closely approximates Arkanoid in its style of gameplay. You control Kung Fu Lu with your joystick to deflect the dragon's balls and destroy the wall above you. Destroy every brick in the wall or hit the dragon six times, and you continue onto the next level. Aiding you in your quest are "power tokens" that randomly fall toward you from time to time. The Zig Zag (Z) causes the ball to travel away from you inn a zig-zag pattern. The Mystery Token (?) has four possible effects: an additional life, add 50, 75, or 100 bonus points, freeze the blackbird or speed up the ball. The Magnetic Paddle Token (M) turns your staff into powerful magnet, drawing the ball close to you. The Nuke Ball Token (bomb), causes your shots to destroy large sections of the wall. The Mega Paddle (flame) creates a large staff for Lu to carry.
There are three skill levels: peasant, student and master. In each level there are four waves to complete before moving onto the next skill level, and players may choose to start on any of the three levels. Setting the difficulty switch to the 'A' setting makes Kung Fu Lu move faster. ~ Michael Schwartz/Joan Dykman, All Game Guide
