Endorsed by "Ironman" Ivan Stewart, Off Road Challenge takes the series in an entirely new direction with a behind-the-truck perspective, a four-speed shifter and clutch, cross-country racing, new terrain (such as snow and asphalt), faster gameplay, boisterous sounds, and modernized graphics with richer detail and variety. There are eight trucks (four selectable, four hidden), each of which has independent suspension and power-sliding abilities for added realism, and six courses, including the Mojave Desert, Las Vegas and Pikes Peak. Throughout the game players can pick up nitro, supernitro, anti-crush helmets and cash, the latter of which can be used to purchase upgraded shocks, acceleration, speed and tires.
