DESCRIPTION

Oasis is a puzzle game with elements of empire-building. Turn by turn, players explore the desert landscape, uncovering one map tile at a time. On each map, there is a special obelisk, which players must find and defend from barbarian attack, in order to triumph and progress to the next level. Other important discoveries, such as mountains, waterways, and cities, pose additional strategic considerations. Battle does not occur until the end of the level, after all the turns have been used up, when the barbarians attack. In a battle, the side with the highest population usually wins, but well-kept cities, connected with roads, can be reinforced from elsewhere in the kingdom. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
