With side-scrolling action and a visual style likely inspired by Tecmo's classic Ninja Gaiden series, Ninja Five-O casts players in the unusual role of a ninja sworn to uphold the law. It seems an evil group is sullying the honorable ninja arts, a way of life players have vowed to serve and to protect. To that end, players must advance through 20 stages in an effort to rid the world of spiteful ninja masters and their terrorist army. Lead character Joe Osugi draws from his unique training to wield swords, throw shuriken, cast ninjutsu magic, and swing from his Kaginawa. An authentic tool used in the arts of stealth and sabotage, the Kaginawa features a grappling hook attached to the end of a long chain.
