EA Sports BIG's exaggerated-action football game hits the asphalt for a second season in this sequel. As in the original NFL Street, real-life stars of the sport head to back streets and abandoned lots for over-the-top games of pick-up style football. The enforcement of rules is lax — both the rules of the game and the rules of physics — so players can perform superhuman leaps and catches, as well as stunts like vaulting off a lead blocker to hurdle the defensive line, or throwing smaller players from the secondary as projectile weapons against the offense.
The sequel puts new emphasis on wall tricks, allowing players to make giant leaps off of vertical surfaces, or even speed along them for a period of time ("like a wall-runnin' football ninja"). Executing wall tricks in the right areas of each field unlocks new features, such as additional NFL Legends. A total of ten new fields are available, along with two bonus environments. NFL Street's Create-A-Player system has been enhanced for this sequel, to allow much more customization of players' faces. At the time of the game's release, developers promise that custom players from NFL Street 2 can eventually be imported into the upcoming edition of the publisher's mainstay pro football franchise, Madden NFL 2006. ~ T.J.
