DESCRIPTION
Join famed commentators Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshier as you test your knowledge of NFL history in NFL Football Trivia Challenge. The game starts out in the locker room, where you and a friend (there is no one-player option) select which of 1994's 28 teams you'd like to represent and the appropriate skill level of your questions - Rookie, Veteran or All-Pro.
The offense starts from its 20-yard line as represented by a small field just below the scoreboard, which takes up the top third of the screen. The ball is advanced if the player answers a multiple choice question correctly with yardage determined by how quickly an answer is registered. The player also faces four downs in which to advance the ball 10 yards. On fourth down, the offense may elect to go for it, punt or - if it's close enough - kick a field goal. If the question is not answered within the 20-second time limit or is incorrect, it is considered wrong and there is a loss of down with no gain on the play.
Pat Summerall asks each of the 1,500 questions that appear on the left-hand side of the screen during gameplay with an accompanying graphic to the right. This graphic window shows one of as many as 1,200 still images or 300 film clips straight from the archives of NFL Films, including touchdown and postgame celebration footage for each team. Each game asks 60 questions (one per minute of action), and the player with the most points after four quarters of play wins. ~ Christopher Michael Baker, All Game Guide
