DESCRIPTION
Midway's seven-on-seven arcade football hit makes its Game Boy Color debut with NFL Blitz. Choose from 30 NFL teams, each rated in passing, rushing, linemen, defense, and special teams, as you embark on a 29-game season or a single exhibition game. Unlike previous versions of NFL Blitz, where the view is above and behind the quarterback, this handheld version is played from a three-quarter perspective. Otherwise, the same "rules" apply: first downs are 30 yards, the clock stops after every play, pass interference is legal, and there are no referees to enforce penalties.
The game features 18 plays on offense and nine on defense. Passing involves using the directional pad to highlight one of your three receivers, then pressing a button to throw. Once the player has the ball, he can spin, stiff-arm, or use turbo to speed away from defenders. Players can also lateral the ball to keep the drive alive. Season progress can be continued through the use of passwords offered at the end of each game. Adjust the quarter length from one to six minutes, or print out statistics and passwords with a Game Boy Printer. Witness video clips at the end of each play and enter secret codes to change the game's features. ~ All Game Guide
