DESCRIPTION
Need for Speed: Porsche 2000 continues the Need for Speed series by offering over 70 Porsche models including many editions of the Boxster, 911, 968, 924, 550, 914, 356, and more. Classic vehicles range rom 1948 to 2000 with models of the turbo-charged racers to the stylish cruisers.
Need for Speed: Porsche 2000 is broken into three main modes of play: Quick Race, Evolution, and Factory Drive. Quick Race offers all the standard modes of play for one to four players. Sub-modes like head to head racing, capture the flag, time-based competition, and even a chase mode taken straight from previous Need for Speed cop chases, are all available through this selection.
Evolution is a career mode where players will begin competing during the 1950s and work their way up through three eras, each with an additional three racing classes. Players can also win money with which to purchase new or second-hand Porsches by entering competitions, weekend races, and tournaments.
The final mode actually places you into the shoes of a Porsche factory driver. Here you must work your way through the ranks of the company by test driving vehicles and completing set tasks to earn those much-needed promotions. This system rewards those who beat set time goals with a medal ranking and also additional cars for use in the Quick Race modes.
Details about all Porsche vehicles are also included while name and color changes are also available in certain modes. Other options in Need for Speed: Porsche 2000 allow players to configure such features as button layout, load and saving options, audio balances including speech and race music, screen format, screen split, and more. For the Porsche collector, Electronic Arts has gone one-step further to provide a collection of narrated video clips. ~ Brad Penniment, All Game Guide
