DESCRIPTION
Officially sanctioned by the National Basketball Association, NBA Live 97 features 29 NBA teams, two All-Star teams and four custom teams. Players can participate in an exhibition game, a full season, or the playoffs using NBA players with updated stats from the 1995-96 season. Up to five players can join in with the use of a multi-tap adapter.
A pregame introduction begins the five-on-five basketball action, complete with team comparisons and player introductions. During games you can substitute players, switch defensive matchups, and call plays for both offense and defense. If you need to brush up on your skills prior to playing an actual game, you can choose from either 2-on-2 or 3-on-3 practice modes.
If you don't want to play basketball, you can show off your knowledge by taking part in a Trivia Quiz. Or, you can select Coaching Mode, where all you do is call plays, make substitutions and perform other roles of delegation.
Other options and features in NBA Live 97 include replays, turbo mode, create a player, three levels of defensive pressure, pick and roll plays, double teams, fouls, tip-offs, hook shots, dunks, tip-ins, a shot clock, crossover dribbling, injuries, player stamina and hand-checks (for getting a better position on your defender). NBA Live 97 is the third title in the four-game Super NES NBA Live series. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
