Sony's San Diego studio once again brings handheld gamers a mix of simulation and arcade basketball action in NBA 10: The Inside. Enhanced animations and expanded commentary from Ian Eagle and Kenny Smith are designed to give the action in "Franchise" and "Playoff" modes a more realistic feel, but the majority of the game's enhancements come in the arcade-style "Conquest" mode. As in previous series entries, "Conquest" mode finds gamers acquiring new players by beating every other team in mini-game challenges.
NBA 10 offers four different ways to conquer the NBA: "DodgeQuest" is a dodgeball mini-game fueled by power-ups and player upgrades; "Give&GoQuest" multiplies the score for every pass made during a possession; "MiniQuest" features basketball action with undersized players; and "Elimiquest" challenges gamers to whittle their roster down to one, with each player disappearing after he scores six points. Fans of multiplayer action can go head-to-head against a friend in local Ad-hoc matches, while those looking for less involved action can try their hand at such returning mini-games as "Shootin' Bricks," "Block A Shot," "Big Shooter," and "Pinball," or they can take on the new basketball-themed bowling game "Open Lanes," and the Bust-A-Move-style "Cherry Pickin'." ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
