DESCRIPTION
Just when retirement was beginning to look good, elderly Baron Baldric is thrust into the battle to save Lazarine Towers from foreboding monsters and the evil of dark forces. If he can save the tower, he saves the entire village of Rimm from unspeakable terror, chaos and destruction. Using the wolf-magic of his ancestors and armed only with the Lazarine Staff and his wits, Baron Baldric must tackle the nemesis and bring peace and harmony back to the realm.
Originally released as a shareware game, this full commercial version of Mystic Towers contains 540 puzzle and monster filled rooms found in a dozen towers. You, playing as Baldric, must gather spells and destroy the Monster Generator in each tower in order to advance to the next. Using an interface that supports joystick, game pad, mouse and keyboard input, you'll monitor food and drink consumption, acquire rewards, fight monsters and wield both tactical and weapon-based spells.
The game has an auto-mapping feature, special objects, teleportation pads and spell enhancers (transmute niches). Rooms are viewed from an isometric perspective with full status displays shown on screen at all times. Can you help Baldric stave off the insidious invasion of Mystic Towers by a horde of nasty monsters? Give it a shot and help the old guy retire in peace! ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
