DESCRIPTION
As in the similarly titled releases for the 128-bit generation consoles, the GBA version of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is designed to carry the franchise into the 21st century with an all-new fighting system. The small-screen battles take place in three dimensions, allowing fighters a greater range of movement. Combatants now have three fighting styles from which to choose, allowing for gruesome weapons attacks or devastating hand-to-hand combos. Each character also has his or her own special attack, to eliminate enemies with signature style. The game features over 20 characters in all, with several new faces (such as the female Sub-Zero) as well as returning favorites like Raiden, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, and others. As in the Mortal Kombat of earlier days, characters can "finish" their opponents with especially gruesome "fatality" moves. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
