DESCRIPTION
Moon Patrol, one in a long line of Williams arcade hits, comes to your TI 99/4A personal computer. The game puts you in the role of an officer for the Luna City Police Department. Your beat is Sector Nine, home of the toughest and most technologically equipped space thugs in the galaxy. Luckily, you've got the most powerful car on the force, fully equipped with anti-gravity buttons for jumping and laser bullets that fire straight ahead or straight up.
The car you drive moves from left to right along the surface of the moon, which is riddled with rolling boulders, large rocks, space plants, mines and large and small craters. To make it past the craters and other obstacles, simply activate your anti-gravity gadget and leap over them. Or, you can destroy the obstacles (other than the craters or mines) by shooting them.
As you travel, tanks, enemy cars and UFOs will shoot at you. Avoid their fire at all costs and blast them off the road or out of the sky. Throughout the game you can speed up or slow down your car as needed.

Moon Patrol is divided into two courses: Beginner and Champion. Each course consists of 26 segments, which are indicated by an alphabetical gauge at the bottom of the screen. The gauge is divided into five sections: A-E, E-J, J-O, O-T and T-Z. At the end of each section, you'll gain bonus points based on time traveled. The faster you drive through section, the more points you'll get.
As you get farther into the game, the obstacles increase in number and the enemies get harder to avoid. The action ends only when all your lives have been destroyed. You earn an extra life at 10,000, 30,000 and 50,000 points. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
