DESCRIPTION
Based on the 1982 Williams arcade game, Moon Patrol is a side-scrolling shooter that puts you at the helm of a Prowler, a land-based rover equipped with laser bullets, JumpCharge and anti-air-attack missiles. As an employee of the Lunar Peace Patrol, your job is to patrol Sector Nine, an area of the Moon that is infested with evil Moonsters.
As you drive from left to right along the rocky surface of the Moon, UFOs and satellites will hover over you and drop bombs and grenades. You must blast these alien vessels out of the sky while avoiding their fire. Moon rocks and Moonster tanks will appear in your pathway, and Thug Cars will sneak up from behind. You must blast (or hop over) these obstacles and enemies as well. Craters along your pathway must be jumped over.
The beat you patrol is divided into 26 points marked A to Z. A message board display will track your progress. You score points in this game by shooting or jumping over enemies and obstacles and by finishing the game. Bonus points can gained by passing check points in or below the average time. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
