This side-scrolling platform title is full of artwork, animations, and inside jokes from the popular British television series Monty Python's Flying Circus, which originally aired on the BBC in the early 1970s and enjoys continued popularity in syndication around the world. The player guides D.P Gumby through four "completely different" worlds, in search of parts of his missing brain. The game's graphic style is based on the cutout animations of Terry Gilliam and should be instantly familiar to fans of the television show and movies.
Although the action in the gameplay is simple and relatively straightforward, the designers seem to have gone to great lengths to add Python-esque references wherever possible. As Gumby makes his way through each level, he must collect cans of Spam to win a piece of his brain at the end. One mini-game challenges the player to contradict everything the on-screen character says in the style of the "Argument Clinic" sketch. Even the copy protection is based on the troupe's "Cheese Shop" sketch, and requires gamers to identify two on-screen cheeses from dozens of pictures in the manual. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
