DESCRIPTION
Released at a budget price in the US, Mobile Light Force 2 is a 2D vertically scrolling shooter originally known in Japan as Shikigami no Shiro. Utilizing a Tension Bonus system, the title rewards players with score multipliers and increased damage potential based upon their proximity to enemies and projectiles; thereby challenging players to not only survive, but to 'live on the edge' so to speak. Once destroyed, enemies yield items (coin-shaped objects) that increase the character's power level, which in turn dictates the spread and strength of their attacks. Dying reduces this level by one, while continuing resets it back to its lowest level.
Players are offered a selection of six characters (three male, three female) to choose from, each of which possess unique rapid-fire, charged and smart-bomb attacks representative of their personalities. Although more powerful than the regular attacks, the charged attack has a limited range and causes the character to move more slowly when used. It does, however, have the added benefit of funneling all on-screen items directly towards the character. Players will need to make use of all these abilities in order to survive the hordes of enemy and boss characters that dwell in each of the game's five stages (each made up of three sub-stages). Once completed, stages can be replayed at any time in Practice mode. Mobile Light Force 2 offers support for two-player simultaneous play. ~ All Game Guide
