DESCRIPTION
Set in the game world of Erathia (last seen in Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia), New World Computing's role playing adventure Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor features a wide range of character classes and races, skills, magic items, monsters, evil denizens and spells (many new to the series). The game, sporting a new look from the previous title, is powered by 3D acceleration that provides improved dynamic lighting and enhanced special effects.
In this follow-up title to Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven, you'll control a party of four potentially heroic adventurers, completely customizable during pre-game character creation. Although beginning the adventure with low-level skills, attributes, weapons, abilities and limited knowledge, each character will improve in all aspects as experience is earned.
At the core of the story lies a power struggle between the Guildmaster of Necromancers Archibald Ironfist, who claims to be the rightful king of Enroth, and his brother Roland and sister-in-law Catherine, currently in power in Erathia.
The interface is basic point-and-click with many supporting keyboard shortcuts and controls. Game play is similar in style to the game's predecessor and features a series of game screens dedicated to actions such as adventuring, character administration, inventory management and book entries pertaining to character quests, maps, calendars, history and general notes. Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor features improved frame rates and encompasses a vast gaming world ripe with exploration, combat and magic spells. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide

“Were you ever a Zombie? Were you ever a Lich? No? In this game both is possible. Just choose the dark side your sorceror will happily become an immortal Lich and conquer the planet with the rest of your group! Or choose light side Your champion will enjoy each of the 5 HARD arena matches to become First Knight. tip: dont take a knight when playin light side. Aside from the outdated graphics engine at the time of its relase the story and char progression was very well thought through. What makes this game better than MM6 are the many class restrictions that limit your options for better balance. Also the spells were better balanced compared to its ancestor e.g. the 4 mana points spell isnot a dmg spell in all 4 elemetal school magics. oh and disclaimer: Zombie isnot choosable from start infact its a unwanted condition, you will want to get rid of asap. not spoiling this any more lol.”

“A better graphic, better engine build on the concepts introduced with the previous installment of the franchise. This game had some great music and quest writing too.”

“A great old-school RPG romp. One of the first RPGs I played, and the first open-world game I really got into. Difficult, but thoroughly enjoyable.”
