The object of Micro Painter is to paint a grid made up of 30 squares with purple paint. In order to do so, you have to maneuver a small ship around the outside of the squares. Starting in the top-left portion of the screen, you pilot the ship in a perfect square around each block.
When a square is completed on the grid, it turns into a checkered red color. In order to complete the entire grid, however, you have to paint squares in a somewhat uniform fashion and cannot simply move to any portion of the grid. The ship must be placed in purple paint before drawing a line around the square. When you make a mistake, the purple line that trails your ship is erased and you have to start again from the upper left corner.
Making matters more difficult are sparkling enemies that patrol the grid in random fashion. When your ship comes in contact with the bad guys (some look like the symbol for a hurricane), the grid is erased and once again you must start over. Because the ship has no offensive weapons such as missiles or lasers, you must use strategic tactics to avoid the sparklers and paint as many squares as possible.
In Micro Painter, it is possible to fill in multiple blocks at a time and when you successfully fill in an area, the score counter is updated. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
