DESCRIPTION
Meteos is the second game to be released in North America from designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi's studio, Q Entertainment, and the first for the Nintendo DS. Similar in spirit to the PSP's Lumines, Meteos is an action-oriented block puzzle game, adorned with otherworldly graphics and an emotive soundtrack. In Meteos, differently colored blocks fall from above into the touch screen playfield. The object of the game is to launch the falling blocks back up into the top screen. This is accomplished by aligning three or blocks of the same color in a horizontal row, using the stylus to swap the places of any two vertically aligned blocks (not completely unlike Bejeweled). Once a row of three blocks is created, it will turn into a rocket-pad base that blasts off into the upper screen. This rocket-pad row has only so much power, however, so if too many blocks are resting on top of it, it won't be able to lift them all and will eventually fall back down into the playfield. ~ T.J. “Very addicting and very colourful. A very epic opening and pretty much a good experience. Puzzle games just don't deserve much attention because they don't bring much to the table.”
